Yonder Collagen FAQ's

Why Yonder Collagen?

Potency Matters - 90% of collagen in the body is Type 1 and 3, the most abundant forms in the human body. You don't need 5 types of collagen or added ingredients to get the maximum benefits, as they only dilute Type 1 and 3. To increase your collagen levels in your body, stick to the most abundant types and maximize your investment with Yonder, which provides the most bang for your buck. Avoid the marketing gimmicks and extra cost.

100% Grass Fed & Finished - Yonder®️ Collagen is sourced exclusively from healthy, 100% grass-fed & finished cows that live outdoors and happily feed on green pasture. Other collagen products may claim grass-fed, but these cows are often fed a combination of grass and grain. Cows not 100% grass-fed consume corn and/or soy, which are often treated with pesticides including glyphosate. Our cows are fully grass-fed, and glyphosate is never sprayed on their land.

Clean & Purity Tested - Yonder® Grass-fed Collagen undergoes extensive testing for impurities and contaminants, including microorganisms, molds, and heavy metals. It's pure and clean, without hormones, antibiotics, chemicals, or GMOs and each stage of production is rigorously tested for purity, potency, and cleanliness in a FDA & cGMP(Current Good Manufacturing Practice) certified facility that is 3d party audited. Free from soy, gluten, and dairy. Yonder® is compatible with ketogenic and paleo diets and adheres to strict standards set by the Natural Products Association.  Enjoy optimal results in every serving with our pure and clean collagen.

Highest Bioavailability - Our collagen is gently simmered at a low heat over an extended period before being refined through our advanced enzymatic hydrolysis process which creates 97% pure collagen peptides for optimal digestion, rapid absorption, and high bioavailability amino acids. This leads to the best potential for soft tissue support (Skin, Joints, Hair, Nails, Ligaments, Fascia, organs, etc...)

What is collagen?

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body. It can be found in every type of tissue, including skin, hair, nails, bones, fascia and organs like the heart and liver. You could say it's the "glue" that holds everything together. Collagen is made up of glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline, the three amino acids that our bodies use to create collagen.

Why should I consume collagen?

Collagen Decline: Your natural collagen levels start to decline as early as your 20s, which can lead to a loss of skin elasticity, joint aches, and digestive issues. By the time you reach 50 years of age, your collagen levels may have dropped to just 50% of what they were in your youth.*

Symptoms: If you notice your skin sagging, hair thinning, joints aching, digestive issues, or loss of muscle mass, there is a good chance your collagen levels are on the decline or grossly depleted.*

Depletion Factors: Aging is not the only factor affecting collagen levels, other factors such as pollution, sugar intake and low estrogen also contribute to its depletion.*

Solution: With declining collagen levels, it's important to find a solution. Clean Collagen supplementation is key and can help fill the gap and provide the necessary nutrients for optimal health and wellness.*

How is your collagen made?

Our collagen is gently simmered at a low heat over an extended period before being refined through our advanced enzymatic hydrolysis

process which creates 97% pure collagen peptides for optimal digestion, rapid absorption, and high bioavailability amino acids. This leads to the best potential for soft tissue support (Skin, Joints, Hair, Nails, Ligaments, Fascia, organs, etc...)

How Does Type III collagen Support Joints?

Type III collagen serves as a structural component of cartilage in the extracellular matrix. Although your joints are not the primary area of concentration of type III collagen, type III collagen is an integral part of the bone and joint matrix that has a lot to do with supporting joint health.

Type III plays a very important role is supporting healthy flexible joints. Where the bones meet at the synovial joints are covered with a thin layer of cartilage known as articular cartilage. (Aricular simple means “having to do with joints”).

People with damage to the cartilage in a joint (articular cartilage damage) will experience: Inflammation – the area swells, becomes warmer than other parts of the body, and is tender, sore, and painful. Stiffness. Type III collagen plays a vital role is supporting the healing process of joints from aging or injury.

How much collagen should I take?

The amount of collagen you need depends on various factors such as age, stress levels, etc. Here is a recommended daily dose based on desired effects:

• 5-10 grams of collagen each day Increases glycine and proline production which supports your body in making collagen.*

• 10-20 grams per day: Boosts energy, promotes weight management, supports gut health and digestion, and enhances skin, hair, joint and nail health.*

• 20-40 grams per day: Supports overall health, more comfortable movement, cellular rejuvenation, digestive system support, weight loss, and muscle building.*

How many servings does your collagen have?

Suggested Use:

Flavorless:

Add 1/2 scoop to 1 full scoop (equals 10-20 grams of collagen) in your smoothie or to your favorite hot beverage. There are 28 servings with 1/2 scoop at 10 grams of collagen a day.

Chocolate:

Add 1 scoop to 2 full scoops (equals 10-20 grams of Collagen) in your smoothie or to your favorite hot beverage. There are 28 servings with 1 scoop equaling 10 grams of collagen a day.

Vanilla with MCT:

Add 1 scoop to 2 full scoops (equals 5-10 grams of collagen) in your smoothie or to your favorite hot beverage. There are 28 servings with 1 scoop equaling 5 grams of collagen a day.

What is the best type of collagen?

How long until you see & feel the benefits from collagen?

This will depend on what you are using it for and the current state of your health. Many people start to see results within 30-90 days, sometimes sooner. As with most supplements, results are dependent on consistency.*

Why don't you add Vitamin C, Hyaluronic acid, other types of collagen, or tryptophan to your formula?

  1. Harming Bioavailability: The addition of Vitamin C & Hyaluronic Acid can act as a pro-oxidant and oxidize collagen’s amino acids during storage, potentially damaging the bioavailability of the amino acids.
  2. Vitamin C: Most people are not deficient in Vitamin C and a daily value of 90mg can be achieved through dietary sources such as an orange. Consuming real food that is rich in Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid, and other vitamins and minerals is the best way to enrich the body with essential vitamins and minerals. Collagen synthesis requires nearly every vitamin we have, not just C. Eating real food for your Vitamin C gives you other vitamins and minerals to aid in collagen synthesis. Bone Broth, an Orange, and Sweet Potatoes are just a few examples of real food to incorporate in your daily diet to maximize your collagen supplementation.
  3. Diluting Potency: Type I & III collagen make up 90% of our body’s collagen and are the most potent types for increasing youthful levels. Adding other, less effective types dilutes the potency of the top two.
  4. Tryptophan: Tryptophan is an essential amino acid that is one of the 9 essential amino acids that forms complete proteins. Collagen nearly achieves the status of a complete protein, containing 8 of the 9 essential amino acids required, with tryptophan being the missing component. If the goal is to achieve a complete protein profile with collagen, this can be effortlessly accomplished by incorporating foods rich in tryptophan into one's diet, thereby completing the essential amino acid profile. The primary objective of consuming collagen regularly is typically to elevate collagen levels back to a more youthful state, and it’s important to note that supplementing with tryptophan is not necessary to achieve this objective. However, ensuring your diet includes foods that are complete proteins or contain tryptophan does guarantee a sufficient intake of complete proteins. This approach assures a balanced and abundant intake of essential amino acids. Foods abundant in tryptophan include nuts and seeds, a variety of fruits and vegetables, seafood, dairy products, grains, eggs, and poultry, such as turkey and chicken. Consuming a diet rich in these wholesome foods is a practical and simple way to ensure intake of all essential amino acids, making collagen a part of a well-rounded, protein-rich diet.
  5. Unnecessary Cost & Less Potent: Avoiding marketing gimmicks and extra costs from other brands.
Can collagen help me recover from a sports injury or surgery?
Collagen is amazing for supporting the body’s natural recovery processes. Whether you are experiencing the typical soreness after intense exercise or a minor wound, collagen is vital to the body. Ample collagen is necessary for our body to repair worn-out muscle tissue and strengthen fascia. Fascia, which is comprised of 90% collagen, serves as a protective mesh around your internal organs and muscles. As we age, our bodies produce less collagen making our natural recovery processes more challenging and time-consuming. *

A 2019 study involving patients with burns showed promising results. Patients were administered either a placebo or a collagen supplement, and those receiving collagen showed improvement 3.7 times faster compared to the placebo group. The study concluded that hydrolyzed (powdered) collagen supplements could benefit burn patients and reduce the duration of their hospital stays.[19]*

You can be assured by using Yonder Collagen, you will be consuming a clean collagen from a company that puts people before profits.
Can collagen help me with Heart Health?
The challenges of modern life, such as unhealthy diets and chronic stress, make supporting heart health an important priority for most Americans. Studies support the idea that collagen supplementation can be a helpful addition to a heart-healthy diet.

A study released in June 2022 examined the impact of collagen supplementation on markers of cardiovascular health. It found that taking collagen helped subjects maintain healthy cholesterol and blood pressure levels, which are important aspects of heart health.[12] *

What is the Amino Acid Profile of your Collagen?
Do you practice Regenerative Agriculture with your collagen?
Regenerative agriculture is a newly emerging focus emphasizing farming practices designed to guard against soil degradation and loss.

It’s important to understand that there currently does not exist a universally agreed-upon procedural standards or authoritative bodies specifically for certifying products as adherent to Regenerative Agriculture (RA). Consequently, there's no unified or third-party certification for a product to be authentically recognized as RA.

Despite this, our cows are exclusively grass-fed and are bred and raised 100% on pastures, avoiding grain-based feedlots. This approach ensures that the core issue of soil loss associated with RA is mitigated. Our farms actively engage in and uphold the principles of Regenerative Farming, emphasizing soil health and ecological balance.
Is your collagen derived from bones or skin/hides?
Our collagen is sourced from Bovine hides. Bovine hide collagen is particularly valuable due to its high content of essential amino acids, specifically glycine and proline. Glycine serves several functions, including support for joint repair and muscle growth, while proline contributes to skin health and wound healing, as well as bolstering the cardiovascular system.

Bovine collagen closely resembles the collagen found in the human body, making it a sought-after choice for those seeking to boost their collagen levels for both health and beauty purposes.

Most Bovine Collagen is obtained from cows, as their hides and connective tissues are rich sources of collagen. These materials would typically go to waste in the meat industry, but thanks to their collagen abundance, they are repurposed to create high-quality health products.

The bovine hide contains roughly 30% protein, with the inner corium layer being especially rich in collagen. Bovine collagen is predominantly comprised of Types I and III collagen, closely mirroring the collagen present in the human body.

Our 100% Grass-fed cattle do not require antibiotics, as they exclusively graze in pastures and consume the foods their digestive systems are naturally adapted for. This sustains the strength and health of their bones, joints, and tendons, resulting in the extraction of superior-quality collagen.
Is Collagen a complete protein?
Foods abundant in tryptophan include nuts and seeds, a variety of fruits and vegetables, seafood, dairy products, grains, eggs, pea protein powder and poultry, such as turkey and chicken. Consuming a diet rich in these wholesome foods is a practical and simple way to ensure intake of all essential amino acids, making collagen a part of a well-rounded, protein-rich diet.

Our Vanilla with MCTs includes Pea Protein powder making that formula a complete protein.
Can I mix this into hot or cold liquids? Does heat damage it?

Yonder® Collagen Peptides are formulated to mix easily into hot or cold beverages, and this amount of heat should not damage the collagen. Collagen proteins keep their integrity up to 400°, making them easy to bake with!

No, we use low heat. Our collagen is gently simmered at a low heat over an extended period before being refined through our advanced enzymatic hydrolysis process which creates 97% pure collagen peptides for optimal digestion, rapid absorption, and high bioavailability amino acids. This leads to the best potential for soft tissue support (Skin, Joints, Hair, Nails, Ligaments, Fascia, organs, etc...)

Are collagen peptides the same as collagen gelatin?

No. Both collagen and gelatin come from cartilage and have the same composition of amino acids. Collagen peptides are easily soluble in any liquid or recipe. In contrast, gelatin has a gelling or thickening effect and can be utilized in a wide range of cooking and baking applications. They are both the same collagen amino acids but the collagen peptides are broken down further, hydrolyzed, which break them down into peptides making it easier to mix and absorb.
